Now that’s a lofty title isn’t it? Well here’s the nitty gritty:
we are overwhelmed with  information especially of the marketing variety.

So the main focus of this blog is, big surprise–FOCUS! Do you have to be
an expert in multiple marketing methods? You can try but my suggestion
is to determine your main focus and get proficient in that area first.

My maintopic focus is with online press releases. My goal is to be the
thought leader, the “go to guy” and be a center of influence. So while I
have expertise in copy, branding, multimedia and social media, my focus
is with Web PR.

So takeaway #1 of “The MainTopic Manifesto” is to determine your
#1 marketing channel to focus and leverage. Get not only comfortable
but accomplished in that direction before adding others to the mix.

But what if you outsource, do the rules change, does the manifesto
become obsolete? Here’s my take: sure, you can outsource some marketing
methods easier than others, but since you’re footing the bill, you’re ultimately
responsible. And if that outsourcer drops the ball, guess who gets to pick it
up? That’s right, you.  So considering your ultimate precious resource is time,
not money, it makes sense to connect and dig deep into one marketing method
before moving on to others.

I’ll publish other tenets of the MainTopic Manifesto, but since my focus is PR,
and not blogs, I’ll wrap this up for now.
